Helen “Liz” Ballard

Liz B. was the mother of Christine, Grandmother of Laura McGee and “Great Gran” to Stewart, Seth and Sara at BBC. Liz was called home on May 14, 2014 at the age of 88. She taught a ladies Sunday School class at BBC for a time. She was a faithful member of Bethlehem. She loved her family well and taught them the importance of a relationship with Christ and living by God’s word. She knew her Bible from cover to cover and had been known to correct a preacher or teacher now and then, if she thought they were incorrect. She enjoyed baking and the family counted on having her chicken and dressing at every holiday meal. Her famous pear cake was gifted to many a pastor, friend and family. She enjoyed crocheting, growing and arranging flowers to give away (her specialty was gladiolas), watching/listening to the Arkansas Razorback Basketball games, completing word seek puzzles and reading books. She adored her great grandchildren and often invited them over to pop popcorn in a pan on the stove or to share a dessert she had baked. She lived independently and kept up her very large yard with a push mower, raked numerous piles of pine needles and burned them. She left behind a spiritual legacy to her family. Her good character, work ethic, integrity and the love of God was shown to all those that were blessed to know her. She is missed everyday by her family. Those left behind look forward to seeing her again one day. Proverbs 31
